March in Mercy: A Neighborhood Prayer and Service Walk with P23 Church

The Mission Front | Capstone Neighborhood

When the Body of Christ comes together in prayer and service, beautiful things happen.

This March, The Mission Front — Capstone Christian Academy's outreach initiative — had the privilege of serving alongside our new partner church, P23 (Psalm 23), pastored by Mr. Stacy Julian, with the support of his wife, Mrs. Jackie Julian, and an incredible group of faithful believers passionate about advancing God's Kingdom.

Capstone Christian Academy and P23 Church families gathered for March in Mercy neighborhood outreach

We gathered for two Saturdays — March 14 and 21 — from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in front of the school to pray, worship, and step out together with one purpose: to serve our community by caring for both their homes and their hearts. We began with the neighborhood directly behind the school. Our group of 24, made up of Capstone and P23 families, split into two teams to reach as many homes as possible.

As we knocked on doors — with our kids standing behind us, excited and ready to serve — very few residents opened them. At first, this discouraged some of the children. But it became a beautiful opportunity to remind them of the power of prayer. Closed doors didn't stop our prayers. Instead, we pressed on — joyful and expectant, trusting that God would use us in His perfect timing.

By God's grace, by the end of our outreach, we were able to serve several homes, pray with neighbors, share Bibles, and accomplish our goal of being a blessing to those who welcomed us. Many families walked away feeling grateful for the impact made and hopeful for the next opportunity.

Grace and Peace,

Our March in Mercy event was a huge success! But the success didn't come from the number of homes that opened their doors — most didn't answer. It wasn't simply the students, families, and church members who joined us — though each one was a blessing. And it wasn't even the beautiful weather or the abundant grace the Lord gave us — though we were certainly grateful.

What made this event a true success was prayer.

Most homes didn't answer for any number of reasons. It would've been easy to feel discouraged — so many tools in hand, so many willing hearts ready to serve, and yet very few people available to receive it. But by God's grace, I was reminded of the words of our late brother in Christ, Brother Andrew: "Our prayers can go where we cannot... There are no borders, no prison walls, no doors that are closed to us when we pray."

When our mission is rooted in prayer and dependence on the Lord, it cannot fail. God is faithful, and He is always at work — even behind closed doors.

Let's continue to trust Him.
