What's Special About 2nd Grade at Capstone Christian Academy?
In 2nd grade, students learn to think independently and can generate original questions outside of the direct guidance of their teachers. They grow in confidence as they grow in ability, and with our private 2nd grade curriculum, can begin to grasp more abstract concepts ranging as widely as variables which represent values in an equation to theological concepts like the Trinity, where there is one God having three distinct persons. Core skills like phonics rules and addition, subtraction, and multiplication have been firmly set to memory and those skills can now be utilized in Capstone’s 2nd grade curriculum and applied to new, unseen challenges.
For 2.5 to 3-year-olds. A program designed to give you complete confidence in every aspect of your child’s experience.
For 4-year-olds. The year before kindergarten is an important stage, and we want your child to enjoy it while building the right skills for the steps ahead.
For 5-year-olds who are waiting to start kindergarten. Capstone has created a student-centered and individualized approach designed to make sure they are ready.

The 2nd Grade Learning Experience
As students progress through 2nd grade, they develop new ways to understand and describe new concepts and new ways to express their creativity. Our 2nd grade curriculum continues to build on students’ learning foundations to help them succeed in each coming school year. You may notice your child asking more nuanced questions about the world around them as their knowledge continues to expand.
