Bill Wadley
Founder
Bill is the owner of Impact Sand and Gravel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The mission of the company is to “Positively Impact our customers, team members, and community.” Bill grew up in Henderson, Nevada and after attending Basic High School he enlisted in the US Army. He served as a private in a Combat Engineer Battalion until he was selected to attend the US Military Academy at West Point, NY. He graduated from West Point in 1981 after which he was a platoon leader, aide-de-camp for a general and a company commander.
Following his retirement from the Army, Bill went to work for Larry Canarelli, President of American West Homes in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bill started as an assistant purchasing agent and through hard work, leadership, and entrepreneurial results, he was promoted through the ranks to Vice President of Land Development. In that role he led a team that developed over 5,000 residential lots in over 20 different projects. His team also master planned and built the infrastructure for the 2,000 acre Silverado Ranch community. In 1996, Bill wrote a business plan to start a sand and gravel company and ran those operations until 1998 when he bought the company from Larry Canarelli. Impact Companies recently celebrated its 20 year anniversary. What started as one company with 3 employees, has grown to several companies with 130 employees.
Bill is the true “rags to riches” story; having grown up in poverty and homelessness. He constantly speaks of God’s grace and abundant love. Bill has a passion for IMPACTing people in gratitude for his blessings. As a business owner and a leader, Bill has developed an arsenal of tools and systems to make a lasting IMPACT on his employees, customers, and the community.
Bill’s life was forever changed by the premier education and leadership development he received at West Point Military Academy. Bill’s vision for providing others with a premier education was sparked in 2004 when he saw an opportunity to pursue a 75-acre land donation for a school. After much prayer and persistence, the land was finally donated in 2006. For 14 years, Bill and the Capstone board have overcome huge obstacles step by step in order to transform a giant hole in the ground into a building pad ready to start construction. His vision and passion is to build a premier PK-12 school that combines a loving Christian environment with the finest education available. His constant motivation is looking forward to the thrill of the day when Capstone will graduate hundreds of world changing leaders each year.
Laura joins the team with over 20 years experience in a variety of educational settings. When she moved to Las Vegas in June 2007, she began her second career working at the elementary level as part of the administrative team. During this time, she has served as an Assistant, Registrar, ACSI Coordinator, Student Activities Coordinator, Student Accounts Manager, Scholarship Facilitator and many other tasks to help run her former schools as smoothly as possible.
Loving on the students and families that attended her schools was a highlight of her day. As a Founder and the Parent Liaison, she plans to use all of her various talents to help both parents and staff to work together to help Capstone provide the best learning environment in the State.
