Douglas Coombs has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, for 21 years with his wife and their three children.

Doug brings an exciting and diverse background to the board. He originally relocated from Washington, DC, to Las Vegas, Nevada, with the United States Secret Service, as the Special Agent in Charge of the Las Vegas Field Office. During his 28 years of government service, he planned and implemented successful security strategies for U.S. Presidents, world leaders, and events of national significance and investigated crimes against our nation's financial systems. During his tenure with the U.S. Secret Service, Mr. Coombs served seven U.S. Presidents.

Upon retirement, he launched his career in the private sector as the Director of Global Security and CEO of a private company owned by a Forbes top 200 individual. In this role, he developed global business and security strategies that guided the growth of multiple business units involved in construction, aviation, philanthropy, hospitality, and executive protection.

Close to a decade later, Mr. Coombs continued his passion for service and entered the nonprofit sector as the Executive Director of Olive Crest Nevada and as the CEO of Habitat for Humanity. Both faith-based organizations are dedicated to improving the quality of life of youth and families in Southern Nevada.

As a Boston State College graduate holding a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado, he has vast experience in organization development and change. Although recently retired, his passion for service continues as an active member of many Southern Nevada organizations and the United States Secret Service Association board of directors.

He is a servant leader with a passion for the safety and success of our communities youth. He believes his tri-sector and leadership experience will contribute to the future development of Capstone Academy.
